Weston McKennie's loan spell at Leeds United has been described as a "failure" by former USA international Alexi Lalas.
The 24-year-old has struggled in the Premier League since joining on loan from Juventus in January. Leeds have the option of converting his loan into a permanent deal for a fee in the region of £30 million, although that appears highly unlikely considering his disappointing form.
McKennie has racked up 15 appearances, and six yellow cards for Leeds, and has been unable to register a single goal or assist.

And in the States, Lalas has reflected negatively on his stint in West Yorkshire, and believes the criticism aimed at him is both "fair" and "warranted".
“Whatever happens over the next four games the loan will be looked at as a failure. We’ll talk about this more later, but it has not been successful," Lalas told his State of the Union Podcast.
"The criticism McKennie has had has been fair and warranted. Yes, he’s not playing for Juventus or an elite team, but he’s expected to be more than he wants to be and more he can be given what Leeds is."
