Westlife star Mark Feehily opens up on baby daughter's adorable first word

Westlife appeared on Loose Women on Thursday, and Mark Feehily talked about his adorable baby daughter and her first word.

Mark, 39, welcomed little Layla with his fiancé Cailean O'Neill, on October 1, 2019, while the other band members Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan, and Kian Egan all have children too.

The Irish boyband will be talking about their upcoming historic Wembley Stadium gigs after their gig last year had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Nadia Sawahla asked: "How different is touring going to be as a dad?'

Mark replied: "It's going to be very different, I think there is going to be a lot more early mornings and a lot less late nights.

Mark said his daughter Layla was "the apple of his eye" (ITV)

"Layla wasn't born the last time we were on tour, she was born just afterwards.

"We were getting ready for her to arrive while all the last gigs were happening, but all the lads had their kids on that tour.

"It was such a pleasure going into the catering room every evening and we sat on this massive table with all the kids, and just sat back and let them entertain us.

"I am happy being 40 years old and being that fatherly figure and just letting the kids be the ones who have all the fun backstage.

"The kids were forming their own band backstage and they used to put gigs on for us."

He continued: "Wembley, Layla will be nearly two, by the time we properly go on tour she will be two, two and a half. I think she is going to love it, she loves music."

A video then played on the screen of Layla and Caileen, as Mark explained: "In that video, we had been getting her to talk and say different words, and she was like, 'Er, no, I'm not going to say any of those words.'

"And then she just went, 'Snow', he laughed, imitating her cut-glass English accent. "And she hasn't spoken since!"

"But she is the absolute apple of our eyes, she's changed our lives, we couldn't be happier," he added.
