Over the past couple of nights, Edinburgh and the surrounding areas have been battered by thunder and lightning storms.
A yellow weather warning was put in place by the Met Office which warned residents in most of Scotland of the dangers that can accompany thunder and lightning.
But despite the obvious problems, from heavy rainfall to surface water on the road, many citizens of Scotland looked to enjoy the light show that these storms tend to produce.

With the skies above the capital being lit up by bolts of lightning, and with thunder rumbling through schemes across Scotland, we decided to throw together a couple of TikToks that show the storms of the past couple of days in all their fierce splendour.
One video, which was captured in West Lothian by Annie Douglas, shows lightning bolts illuminating the skies above a residential community.
The rain can be seen pouring down on the roads below as the thunder can be heard roaring in the clip.
In another video, a passenger can be seen recording the road and sky from inside a car as they travel along the M90 on the other side of the Forth Crossing in Fife.
The cars in the video are visibly driving with caution as the rain falls onto the busy commuter road that would have been experiencing a lot of surface water at the time of the thunder and lightning.
TikTok user Lucille, posted: “Thunderstorms provided an amazing show for our drive home!”
The video shows lightning creating an impressive light display as it spreads throughout the skies in front of the travellers.
Although a number of us enjoyed the impressive storms, others have been preying for a break in the weather.
Edinburgh Live reported that the remainder of this week (August 15-21) would stay rather wet and dreich, but there is a reprieve from the bad weather coming, as sunny spells with peak temperatures of 22 degrees celsius being predicted by AccuWeather from August 22-27.
