West Lothian Winter Paralympics ace falls short of medal bid in Beijing

Livingston's Shona Brownlee fell short of claiming a medal at her debut Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing.

The 42-year-old para alpine skier only took up the sport four years ago and quickly rose through the ranks to become British no.1 as well as competing at European and world events.

Brownlee claimed sixth place in the women's Super-G sitting event with a time of 1:48.23 before following that up with a Did Not Finish after steering off course in the women's Super Combined sitting on Monday. She had been in sixth place after the first event but fell in the second and didn't complete the race.

Despite missing out on the medals, the 2021 RAF Sportswoman of the Year did West Lothian proud and is sure to enjoy more success in the sport over the coming years.
