West Lothian thieves make off with luxury mountain bikes worth thousands

Police in West Lothian have appealed for information after two luxury mountain bikes were nabbed by thieves.

The Santa Cruz bikes were stolen overnight from the Drumcross Steadings near Bathgate, with the owners desperate to be reunited with them.

Both high-end models, the first bike, an orange Tallboy, usually retails for around £3,200, while the second, a Blur, can cost around £5,000 to purchase.

According to officers, the bikes are believed to have been taken from the steading at some point between 7pm on February 27, and 8am on February 28.

The Santa Cruz Blur has a purple frame, a large 29 inch wheel, with police also pointing out the distinctive mark on the rear of the frame that could be used to identify the bike.
