West Lothian megastar Lewis Capaldi has admitted he is a 'happy chappy' at being with new girlfriend Ellie MacDowall.
The loved up singer opened up on their relationship for the first-time and is clearly relishing every moment. The 26-year-old has kept his blossoming romance out of the spotlight after the couple were spotted cosying up at the Brit Awards afterparty together back in February.
Lewis - who recently released a candid Netflix documentary How I'm Feeling Now exploring fame and mental health - gave a rare insight into his new relationship with 'lovely' Ellie as he spoke to Radio 2 DJ Scott Mills, reports the Record.

The Pointless singer revealed how smitten he is in his relationship with Edinburgh-born actress Ellie, 23, as he spoke of how she is a "lovely lady".
Lewis said: "I have a girlfriend and that's going really well, I am happy chappy, she's a lovely lady. I feel good about everything." The Someone You Loved singer was first spotted with his new girlfriend back in November, as the pair were pictured on a night out and then a romantic dinner in the early hours of the morning. They were then pictured at the BRITs afterparty in February.
During the radio interview, Lewis revealed that his latest single Wish You the Best, which comes out today ahead of his second album release, is a break-up song. The star had previously dated Scots Love Island winner Paige Turley.
He says: "It's about someone moving on and that feeling where you know it's the best thing for that person. But all you say is 'good luck I'm really happy for you' but actually you are dying inside and want to tell them all the things you miss about them and why they should stay with you - so just a really happy song for the summer!"
It comes after the release of the star's highly-anticipated Netflix documentary which left fans in tears over the candid and honest account of his life since he shot to overnight fame in 2018. The film explored the mental health struggles Lewis has had to face along with his soaring celeb status.
It also explored the singer's journey with Tourette's syndrome, after doctors picked up on his uncontrollable shoulder twitch. Earlier this week, we reported how the singer's older sister Danielle, 30, rushed to the defence of their parents after fans took aim at how they handled their singing legend son's Tourette's Syndrome in his new Netflix documentary.
Lewis Capaldi's Netflix documentary How I'm Feeling Now is now available to stream on Netflix.
