West Lothian restaurant offers new work from home deal with limitless drinks

A West Lothian restaurant has offered remote workers a new opportunity to work from home with a twist - by eating and drinking in their restaurant for free added into the bargain.

The Chain Runner & Marston's Inn in Livingston has come up with the unique idea to offer a table at their establishment for remote workers, complete with a meal and unlimited refills on drinks such as tea, coffee and soft drinks.

In a post on their Facebook page, the restaurant wrote: "Working from home? Sick of staring at the same four walls, and fancy a change of scenery?

"Want to be more productive? Why not rent a pub desk!

"This entails your very own personal table, of course, your very own plug socket, free unlimited wifi, a meal from our dedicated pub desk menu or breakfast menu.

"And, go on then, we will even chuck in unlimited tea, coffee or draught soft drink. All this for only £10pp.

"Spaces are very limited so call us today to book your table. Tables are available every day from 7am until 6pm!"

This idea is a unique spin on the concept of working from home, and is an exceptionally cheap way to have a break from the home office.

This local restaurant was also in the news earlier this week, as a host of exotic animals will be visiting the same Livingston establishment on Valentine's Day.

There will be various animals on show, from tortoises to hedgehogs, and even your very own Sergei from the Compare the Meerkat/Market commercials.

The event will be held on February 14, Valentine's Day, and is only £10 per person to book, with 20 per cent off restaurant food if you decide to stay for a bite to eat.

Speaking to Edinburgh Live, restaurant manager Steve Duggan said: "We are really looking forward to having everyone join us for a day of fun with the animals and families who have booked already.

"It has been a hit from the off, we've only got a few spaces left, so I'll probably need to organise another visit just to make sure everyone interested gets a chance.

"The company is run by a guy called Luke, and he's hosted animal experiences in our Motherwell restaurant site already, and it went really well.

"We wanted to have the baby Highland Cow to come visit, but logistically it doesn't work out, so we can hope for next time!"
