Viewers have slammed a West Lothian woman for finding romance on a Channel 4 reality show, saying it’s “not Love Island”.
Sydney May Nicholson, 24, is a contestant on Rise and Fall, where 16 people are divided into ‘rulers’ and grafters’ with the aim of winning up to £100,000.
Presented by Radio 1 host Greg James, the programme has the same creators as the hit series The Traitors – which took the UK by storm last year.

In the game, the rulers hold all the power, while the grafters have none. The players can change between the roles throughout the series, but only the rulers will be in with a chance of taking home the cash.
Delivery driver Sydney has become a central character on the show, due in large part to the spark she has formed with fellow contestant 28-year-old Jack Woods.
The single mum confessed her feelings for Jack on the programme, saying: “I’m finding myself getting closer to Jack, he’s flirty and obviously I’m attracted to him."
However, not all viewers are happy to see the romance blossoming on their screens, arguing that the pair have found themselves on the wrong reality show.

One social media user said: “Dear Jack and Sydney, Rise and Fall is NOT Love Island.”
Another added: “Sydney and Jack should’ve both gone home. You like each other that much? Leave. This isn’t Love Island. Rubbish.”
One commented: “Jack and Sydney need to get a grip and realise this is NOT Love Island.”
While another said: “Sydney, you’re not on Love Island. That show ended weeks ago.”
Jack has proved unpopular with many viewers, with one tweeting: “Whatever does Sydney see in Jack? He is so flawed nd so unpleasant and such an idiot. It’s Rise and Fall, not Love Island.”
Rise and Fall continues on weeknights on Channel 4 ahead of the season finale on Thursday 13 April, where fans will find out who leaves with the money.
