Police Scotland have confirmed the identity of a man who died in an Edinburgh hospital this week, after a horror road collision.
Officers also confirmed a man was arrested in relation to the incident but has since been released.
The fatal crash occurred outside a hotel on a residential road in Bathgate, West Lothian, in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police say the fatal crash happened around 0.05am near to the junction with Ladeside Road, outside the Happy Valley Hotel, when a car collided with a pedestrian.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, 65-year-old Michael Slevin, was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he died a short time later.
Michael’s family have released the following statement through Police Scotland: “Michael was a well-liked local man and he will be sorely missed by all his friends and family.
“Our family would like to thank both the professionals and members of the public who assisted at the scene.
We would appreciate our privacy at this very difficult time.”
A 45-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released pending further enquiry.
