West Lothian nine-year-old injured after car mounts pavement before speeding off

Officers are appealing to the public following a crash in West Lothian that led to a nine-year-old boy suffering minor injuries.

Police Scotland say that the incident took place at around 4:50pm on Thursday November 3 on Whitehill Road at the junction with Yule Terrace.

Police say that a dark coloured Vauxhall Insignia had driven up onto the pavement close to four pedestrians before it drove off.

They say that one of the pedestrians was a nine year old boy who had sustained minor injuries and was treated by ambulance staff at the scene but that no one else was injured.

Officers have opened enquiries to try to trace the car and as a result are asking for members of the public to come forward with any information.

Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “We are asking for anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash, or anyone with information about the vehicle involved, to please get in touch.

“We are also asking anyone with dash-cam footage that could assist with our ongoing enquiries to establish the full circumstances to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2329 of Thursday, 3 November, 2022.
