West Lothian man who couldn't visit dad in nursing home says partygate scandal is "national disgrace"

A West Lothian man whose dad passed away in a nursing home during lockdown said he is “sickened” that Boris Johnson has not resigned over the partygate scandal.

Tommy Davidson lost dad Lex in November 2020 and previously said he was outraged to learn parties and gatherings were being held at Downing Street while he could only see his dad through a care home window.

And he said this week it was nothing short of a “national disgrace” that Boris Johnson had held on to his job after a damning report from Sue Grey was released.

It laid bare “failures of leadership” in allowing parties in the Number 10 garden and slammed the culture of boozing among staff.

The Metropolitan Police are now investigating 12 alleged social events.

Tommy, whose dad Lex served as a councillor for 25 years as councillor for the Broxburn, Uphall and Winchburgh ward, said: “This is a National disgrace, the PM should have resigned.

“It sickens me that Boris Johnston and his Tory pals could have parties while our family and thousands of other families could not visit our loved one’s in their final days, weeks and months of their lives.”
