All lanes on the M8 westbound are currently restricted as emergency services race to attend to an ongoing incident.
The carriageway lane two is closed due to a crash at Broxburn with delays and long queues expected as traffic is building up on approach.
Traffic Scotland confirmed that there are delays of up to 40 minutes which could increase.
Ambulances and police are on their way to the incident though it was unclear how many vehicles are involved or if anyone is injured.
