The 2023 East of Scotland Cricket Association season gets underway on Saturday with Linlithgow and Livingston combining to field six teams.
Linlithgow First XI battled hard and were able to avoid relegation from the East Championship in their first season back in nearly a decade last year and they’ll be hoping for a similar achievement this time around.
They welcome Edinburgh Accies to Boghall on Saturday as they look to get their season started in style.
The club’s Second XI will be competing in Division Four with their first contest of the summer being away from home against Royal High Corstorphine Third XI. They’re at home for the first time next weekend when they host Drummond Trinity Third XI.
Livingston have increased the number of teams they’ll be fielding from three to four for this season with the club’s First XI aiming for promotion from Division One. They get their bid underway on Saturday with an away day against Drummond Trinity while the club’s Second XI are at home to Edinburgh Third XI in their first Division Five fixture of the season.
Livingston Third XI had a jittery start in their maiden season last time out but will hopefully feel the benefit of having a full campaign under their belt as they kick-off their Division Seven fixtures away at Holy Cross Second XI.
The club will also field a new Fourth XI and they get life up and running in Division Eight on Sunday at home against Royal High Corstorphine Fourth XI.
