A lack of affordable housing and concerns over healthcare provision are among the issues for residents in the Fauldhouse and the Breich Valley ward.
West Calder, the home of the Co-operative Movement in Scotland, is the largest settlement in this ward which takes in the south-west of the county.
The ward consists of Fauldhouse, Longridge, Bents, Stoneyburn, Loganlea, Addiewell, Breich, West Calder and Polbeth.
The largely rural ward has seen development concentrated around West Calder. In the last five years a new High School has opened, which has space for more than a 1,000 pupils.
Gavieside, on the southern edge of the Five Sisters will see major housing developments in the next few years and several sites around the town, and in the shadow of the Five Sisters bing have already attracted controversy.
A very real problem for villages here though is affordable housing. Many younger people move out because its hard to find a home and major housebuilders are not drawn to villages away from the A71/M8 corridor.
Other issues in the ward include public transport, safe foot and cycle paths healthcare provision and other facilities.
