West Lothian charity collecting donations of essentials to help victims of earthquake in Turkey and Syria

People in West Lothian who want to donate essential items to help victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria can drop them off at a local charity base.

HomeAid in Bathgate is accepting donations of clothing, blankets, food, nappies and toiletries to help with the aid appeal.

Items like camp beds, tents, torches and mattresses are also being sought

Anyone who wants to get involved can drop off items at their base at Gideon Street.

So far over 9000 people have been killed after two devastating earthquakes on Monday and many survivors are without a home in freezing temperature.

Rescuers have spent a second freezing-cold night searching for survivors under the rubble with warnings the death toll is likely yo rise.
