Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a burning car on a busy motorway in West Lothian.
Both Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service raced to the incident that saw a car become engulfed in flames between J2 at Ratho and J3 at Uphall on the M8.
The blaze is understood to have taken place at around 1pm with firefighters scrambled to the scene.

So far no injuries have been reported in relation to the incident but a video clip shared with the Daily Record shows a grey Audi completely covered in flames as black billowing smoke rises into the sky.
Motorists have complained of severe tailbacks with traffic at a standstill. The vehicle is visible on the hard shoulder
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1pm on Monday, 20 February, 2023, police were called to the M8 between J2 and J3, following a report of a car on fire. There are no reported injuries and emergency services remain at the scene.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for comment.
