A gym group that has bases in both Edinburgh and Livingston have won two top awards within the industry.
Synergy Group Fitness claimed the UK Functional Gym of the Year award at the National Fitness Awards, held recently in Leicester.
And it was double success as the gym’s Amy Murray was crowned UK Gym Based Personal Trainer of the Year.
The company was established in 2012 and offers bespoke, gym-based group fitness, personal training and private group and individual sports performance coaching.
A thrilled Amy commented: “It’s utterly overwhelming to be considered as the UK’s best personal trainer. I was honestly speechless when they said my name. It is unarguably the most proud moment of my working life.”
Synergy Group Fitness founder and owner Ross Paterson added: “It is an absolute honour and a privilege to even be shortlisted in the National Fitness Awards, but to win one of the biggest awards available - especially as a small, independent family run gym - it’s almost impossible to put into words how incredibly ecstatic that makes us feel.
“These awards and the industry recognition is a real testament to everyone that works and trains at Synergy.
“I’m also so proud of Amy for the incredible achievement of winning UK’s PT of the Year. I don’t think it’s fully sunk in with her yet how big a deal this is but what I do know is she deserves every second of success she gets. “She really is an incredible trainer who has achieved some remarkable, life altering results for her clients.”
The event was hosted by Diane Youdale and James Crossley, better known as Jet and Hunter from the TV series Gladiators.
