West Highland Line named one of world's most Instagrammable train journeys

An iconic Scottish train journey has been named as one of the most Instagrammable in the world. Scotland's West Highland Line was one of only two UK routes that made it into the top 10.

The research by online casino guide CasinoTop10.net looked into the number of tags each journey has on Instagram to compile a top 20 routes with four UK routes in total making the final list.

Sitting among famous routes such as the Orient Express, the Rocky Mountaineer and the Trans-Siberian Railway, the West Highland Line is the second UK train journey on the list in 9th place, with 15,662 tags, thanks to its starring role in the Harry Potter movies.

The stunning route, which leaves from Glasgow before venturing into Scotland's wild and dramatic west coast to Mallaig and Oban, is filled with breathtaking scenery including sweeping mountains and beautiful lochs which stretch into the distance.
