West Ham XI vs Southampton: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League game today

West Ham return to something approaching full strength for today’s Premier League meeting with Southampton.

Both Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson limped off with injury on Thursday against Anderlecht, limiting options at the back.

Moyes confirmed there is hope Thilo Kehrer can also return after sitting out the Europa Conference League victory as a precaution and the German returns.

The West Ham boss was afforded the luxury of resting eight players, with Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek and Gianluca Scamacca handed only brief runouts in preparation for the trip to the south coast, while Lucas Paqueta was withdrawn at half-time. All of them start on the south coast.

Unbeaten since the international break, Moyes’ side have lifted the pressure after a poor start to the season and the prospect of a game with an out-of-form Southampton side should raise confidence further.

Starting West Ham XI (4-2-3-1): Fabianski; Johnson, Kehrer, Cresswell; Coufal, Rice, Soucek, Emerson; Paqueta, Scamacca, Bowen

Doubts: Ogbonna, Dawson

Time and date: 2pm BST, Sunday October 16 2022

Venue: St Mary’s Stadium

Referee: Peter Bankes, Simon Hooper (VAR)
