Pablo Fornals‘ quest to make the West Ham starting line-up continues as he was left on the bench for their Premier League meeting with Liverpool this evening (Wednesday).
The Spaniard scored a wonderfully improvised goal away at Bournemouth on Sunday and was hoping for a rare start in east London as the Hammers look to continue their recent run of good form.
But David Moyes has opted for the same XI that defeated the Cherries, with Said Benrahma keeping his place in attack and Nayef Aguerd still ahead of Angelo Ogbonna and Thilo Kehrer in the centre-back stakes.

“I think Pablo’s situation is he probably just feels he should be getting more minutes,” Moyes said.
“He’s thought he’s got an opportunity here, he’s come on and he’s scored a really good goal so we’re pleased for Pablo.”
Despite those words, it comes as little surprise that Moyes has stuck with an unchanged lineup as his side look to continue the recent resurgence that has taken them to 13th in the table, six points clear of the drop.
While the focus is naturally on Europe, beating a Liverpool team who have struggled on the road this season would be another turning point for the home side. Jurgen Klopp has started with Mo Salah, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo in a strong looking Reds’ attack.
Confirmed West Ham XI (4-3-3): Fabianski; Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Cresswell; Soucek, Rice, Paqueta; Bowen, Antonio, Benrahma.
Subs: Areola, Emerson, Ogbonna, Downes, Cornet, Kehrer, Fornals, Lanzini, Ings.
