The Mexico international became the club’s first signing of the summer on Thursday and could feasibly play at the Vitality Stadium, though he has hardly trained over the last week meaning he is not expected to feature.
Neither Harry Maguire or James Ward-Prowse will have been signed in time to feature, leaving Moyes with the bulk of the same squad who won the Europa Conference League in June.
They begin life without Declan Rice on the south coast.
Flyn Downes is not involved amid links with a move to Southampton.
