Paul Konchesky says West Ham United form a connection with players that make it difficult to leave once they retire, with a number of ex-stars in coaching and board roles at the London Stadium.
Konchesky is currently the West Ham United Women's manager, having been appointed in May after being the team's assistant manager.
Two games into his career as boss has seen the Hammers beat Everton and then lose to Manchester United, with Chelsea next up on Wednesday night.

Getting a shot at a new career in a place where he spent two years early on in his career, Konchesky follows in the line of former captain Mark Noble who will be the club's sporting director in January, Carlton Cole (under 15s coach), Jimmy Walker (under-18s goalkeepers coach), Kevin Keen (under-18s lead coach), Zavon Hines (under-13s coach), Steve Potts (under-23s assistant coach), Mark Robson (under-23s manager) and Kevin Nolan (first-team coach).
The former left back says that 'it's hard to leave' West Ham once you join and plans to be in east London for a while as West Ham Women's manager.
"That must be the connection you get with the club,” Konchesky tells The Athletic. “We know what West Ham are about — you know what we’re about because we’ve played here. You get that affection and once you play here, it’s hard to leave. You always want to be part of this football club and I’m no different so hopefully I’ll be here for a long time.”
