West Ham were held to a costly FA Cup draw by Championship outfit Bristol City on Sunday as the problems mounted for David Moyes.
Not only do his side, already in the midst of a relentless schedule, now not get a two-week break, the Hammers lost Lucas Paqueta and Konstantinos Mavropanos to injury.
It was the Brazilian who had teed Jarrod Bowen up for the opening goal less than ten minutes into the game with a fine pass over the visiting defence, the England forward then rounding the goalkeeper before firing into an empty net.
That proved to be Paqueta’s last involvement and the Robins started growing into the game. By the time forward Tommy Conway levelled the scores in the second-half, it was the away side who had enjoyed the better chances.
West Ham went close in the dying embers but could not find a way through on a thoroughly frustrating day for the Irons.
