West Ham unveil new home kit for 2022/23 season inspired by Billy Bonds’ promotion winners

West Ham have this morning unveiled the new home kit that David Moyes’ side will wear as they embark on a second successive season of European football next term.

The Hammers enjoyed a fine 2021/22 campaign, reaching the semi-finals of the Europa League and finishing seventh in the Premier League to ensure an immediate return to Europe, this time in the Conference League.

The new strip is inspired by the iconic kit worn by the side that won promotion from the second tier under club legend Billy Bonds in 1992/93, with next season marking the 30th anniversary of that campaign.

The kit features a pronounced pale blue collar and trim with the traditional claret base and a “scratched graffiti” on the sleeve.

In keeping with the latter aspect, the kit launch video is set in front of three West Ham-themed graffiti walls, with the street art produced at separate locations in the club’s east London heartland; near the site of former stadium the Boleyn Ground, on the Greenway in Plaistow and outside Gainsborough Primary School in West Ham itself.
