West Ham United are not close to signing Amiens centre-back Formosse Mendy.
Reports in Senegal have suggested that the Hammers have agreed a deal to sign the defender from Ligue 2 side Amiens, with the 22-year-old also linked with interest with Southampton.
However, football.london understands that is not the case and when he was first linked with interest from the east London outfit earlier this month, there was also no genuine interest from David Moyes’ side.

However, one player who could leave the club before Tuesday’s deadline is midfielder Conor Coventry.
The West Ham Way have reported the former Republic of Ireland Under-21s captain is attracting interest from Championship side Rotherham United in a loan deal and football.london understands the move could potentially happen for the midfielder.
Coventry has found appearances hard to come by this season under Moyes, playing seven times in all competitions. Of those, five have been in the Europa Conference League.
The 22-year-old is into the final months of his contract at the London Stadium, but West Ham do have the option to extend that by an additional year.
