West Ham team news as David Moyes makes four changes to face Man City with Declan Rice absent

West Ham United boss David Moyes has named his side to face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

The Hammers will look to bolster their current four-point advantage on the Premier League’s relegation zone against title-chasing City, seeing their lead cut from six points to four after back-to-back defeats to Liverpool and Crystal Palace in their last two games.

As the Irons look to bolster their current Premier League position, where a win would take them one place up to 14th, Moyes has made four changes to face City from the side that lost 4-3 to Palace on Saturday.

It is understood that a sickness bug around the camp has led to a few last-minute changes in the team, with a few late calls made.

In what appears to be a switch to a 3-4-3 formation, Angelo Ogbonna, Aaron Cresswell and Thilo Kehrer all come in and make up a back-three formation.

In midfield, Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek are absent, so Lucas Paqueta and Flynn Downes start in the heart of midfield. Vladimir Coufal and Emerson start as the two wing-backs.

Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio and Pablo Fornals keep their starting places in the front three. Rice, Soucek and Nayef Aguerd, who all started against Palace, all miss out on the squad.

French centre-back Kurt Zouma misses out after suffering an ankle injury against Palace, while Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca is set to miss the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery.

Meanwhile, City boss Pep Guardiola has made three changes from the side that lost 2-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night.

Manchester City starting XI: Stefan Ortega; Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake; John Stones, Rodri; Riyad Mahrez, Julian Alvarez, Bernardo Silva, Jack Grealish; Erling Haaland
