Tomas Soucek has claimed West Ham United manager David Moyes is trying “some different things” behind the scenes at the club’s training ground.
While West Ham remain in a good position in terms of challenging to qualify for next season’s Champions League, Moyes’ side have only won twice in the League since the turn of the year.
Clearly, there’s nothing to suggest they are now out of the race but frustrating draws with the likes of Leicester City and Newcastle United of late has allowed others chasing the top four to ramp up the pressure.
Given the club’s lack of activity over the course of the January transfer window, Moyes has to turn to internal solutions in order to relight their push.
Soucek himself has endured a slightly more difficult campaign, scoring only three times thus far, but has talked of the work Moyes is doing at the club’s Rush Green base to improve things.
“We cannot give up after a few [tough] games,” he told the club’s official website.
“We still got points from those games.
“We want to keep going hard, so our spirit has to be at a high level and not drop, because team spirit is one of the main reasons we are here now.
“We’ve done some different things during training at Rush Green with how we want to play and what we want to develop, and I think this can improve us as a team, how we play and how we want to play.
“We struggled with keeping the ball and creating chances against Newcastle, but we’ve been working hard to do our maximum, and we want to transfer that to the next game.
“That’s the best thing we can show against Wolves.”
