West Ham United are still fully backing manager David Moyes following his side’s 5-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
football.london understands that while the Hammers’ position in the relegation fight did not worsen with their heaviest home Premier League loss since August 2019, the manner of the hammering led to Moyes saying in his post-match press conference that he would have to accept whatever decision the club makes over his future.
The Hammers currently sit 15th in the table with just ten league matches remaining this season but are only outside of the relegation zone on goal difference.

They do however have a game in hand on the rest of the sides in the Premier League’s bottom nine, although that comes away at Manchester City next month.
Ahead of the 5-1 defeat to Newcastle, West Ham had been six matches unbeaten at home in 2023 in all competitions, with their defeat to the Magpies being their first at the London Stadium since losing 2-0 to Brentford on December 30.
West Ham still remain in the Europa Conference League and face Belgian side Gent over two legs over the next two Thursdays. Next up in the Premier League is a trip to Fulham on Saturday before hosting Premier League leaders Arsenal next Sunday.
