West Ham players ratings vs Arsenal: Patrick Kelly and Gideon Kodua outstanding in rampant FA Youth Cup win

West Ham ended their 24-year wait for FA Youth Cup glory as they blew Arsenal away with a 5-1 win at the Emirates Stadium.

Omari Benjamin had put the Gunners in front, but the Hammers responded in style as George Earthy, Callum Marshall and Gideon Kodua all struck before half-time.

Arsenal pushed after the break, but West Ham were clinical when their chances came, and Kaelen Caey and Josh Briggs put the result well beyond doubt.

Here’s how Kevin Keen’s side rated at the Emirates...

Mason Terry 7

Got across well to keep out Rosiak free-kick early on, then denied same player from tight angle.

Ryan Battrum 6

Drive down the right created second goal. Given a tougher time following Fawumni introduction at the break.

Kaelen Casey 7

Like his partner, threw his body in front of anything Arsenal delivered, including key block on Nwaneri. Header clinched it late on. Booked.

Regan Clayton 7

Made a couple of superb clearances and read game brilliantly from centre-back.

Ollie Scarles 7

Delicious cross onto Mubama’s head deserved better finish. Corner late on got one from Casey.

Lewis Orford 7

Quietly accomplished in the holding midfield, with Declan Rice watching on. Free-kick deflected just wide late on.

George Earthy 7

Technically-gifted player whose equaliser started turnaround after Arsenal’s bright start.

Patrick Kelly 8

Outstanding in the middle of the park. Tenacious worker who tracked back brilliantly.

Gideon Kodua 8

Made the second goal with an excellent low cross and then scored stunner with 35-yard lob.

Callum Marshall 7

Irishman showed good anticipation to get in front of centre-backs for tap-in.

Divin Mubama 7

Prolific forward headed his one decent opening over the bar but displayed some fine link-up play. Could get more first-team chances before end of the season.

Substitutes

Sean Tarima (Casey 80’)

Daniel Rigge (Earthy 84’)

Josh Briggs (Battrum 90’)

Scored with his first touch after last-minute introduction.

Unused: Herrick, Fawunmi, Mukasa, Jones
