West Ham player ratings vs Tottenham: Arthur Masuaku too soft and Kurt Zouma terrorised by Son Heung-min

West Ham’s hopes of a top-four finish look all but over following defeat to London rivals Tottenham.

Tottenham took an early lead in the derby when, after Matt Doherty had snatched possession from Arthur Masuaku, Harry Kane’s cross deflected in off Kurt Zouma.

Spurs doubled their lead when Heung-min Son collected a fine ball in behind from Kane and fired past Lukasz Fabianski.

West Ham fought back and moved back to within one goal when Said Benrahma volleyed home at the far-post from a corner.

Son added his second and Tottenham’s third late on to complete a comfortable day for the north Londoners.

Here is how Jack Rosser rated the Hammers…

Lukasz Fabianski - 6

Little he could have done with the goals. Stood up to Kane on the break well in the second-half.

Ben Johnson - 6

Solid enough defensively but needs to offer more going forward. Crossing has to improve.

Kurt Zouma - 5

Struggled to deal with Son throughout the first-half but improved after the break.

Craig Dawson - 7

Made some important interventions at the back and rose well to tee up Benrahma’s goal.

Aaron Cresswell - 6

Sloppy ball to Masuaku in the build-up to the opener. Dangerous set piece deliveries.

Arthur Masuaku - 5

Applied good pressure to win the corner for Benrahma’s goal but was far too soft on the ball ahead of the Spurs opener.

Declan Rice - 7

Struggled with Kane early on but dropped deeper after 25 minutes and got a much better grip of the game.

Tomas Soucek - 6

Not as influential as in recent weeks. Tried to help lead the line with Yarmolenko after Antonio’s withdrawal.

Manuel Lanzini - 5

Some neat work on the ball but struggled to create too much.

Said Benrahma - 6

Took his goal - a first since December 28 - very well but was far too wasteful on the ball in the final third, to Moyes’s frustration.

Michail Antonio - 5

Battled well with Cristian Romero and Eric Dier but wasted a golden chance with his final touch of the game.

Substitutes

Andriy Yarmolenko - 6

Looked to lead the line in Antonio’s place but lacked the pace and service to make a real impact.

Pablo Fornals - 6

Battled well in midfield but couldn’t help West Ham find a leveller.

Nikola Vlasic - N/A
