West Ham player ratings vs FCSB: Ollie Scarles leads impressive band of teenagers as Pablo Fornals shows class

West Ham secured a dominant 3-0 win at FCSB on Thursday night with Ollie Scarles and Pablo Fornals among a band of impressive performers.

A number of young stars were handed rare outings in Romania for the Europa Conference League dead rubber with Divin Mubama leading the line and almost capping his debut with a goal.

Here’s how David Moyes‘ side rated in Romania...

Alphonse Areola - 6

Back in his cup keeper role after a rare League outing at Old Trafford and was hardly worked.

Angelo Ogbonna - 7

Another night with a cigar on for the Italian, who has marshalled changing casts so well throughout this group stage. Almost got himself on the scoresheet.

Nayef Aguerd - 7

Saw a deflected header just about cleared off the line. Booked (for pretty much nothing).

Ben Johnson - 6

Cracking burst almost teed up chance for Mubama, then ball from deep made Fornals opener.

Vladimir Coufal - 6

Got away with sloppy early touch but made Mubama’s goal with a fine cross.

Conor Coventry - 6

Impressed with his industry against Silkeborg last week but had rather less to do here as West Ham dominated.

Manuel Lanzini - 6

Went close with one dipping effort before the break.

Ollie Scarles - 8

The most impressive of the debutants, the 16-year-old’s delivery from the left was excellent all evening and eventually created Fornals’ second. Booked.

Flynn Downes - 8

Looked desperate to open his account but can be extremely satisfied with another fine display in Europe. Great bit of work in build-up to Mubama goal.

Pablo Fornals - 8

Marked his 150th Hammers appearance with his first European goal for the club. Brilliantly taken, too, and then added another for good measure.

Divin Mubama - 7

Denied a dream debut goal from Scarles cross by a fine save, then by Uefa pen-pushers as deflected header was ruled an own-goal. Booked.

Substitutes

Freddie Potts (Fornals 66’)

Harrison Ashby (Coufal 66’)

Keenan Forson (Downes 66’)

Kamari Swyer (Mubama 77’)

Kaelen Casey (Johnson 77’)
