West Ham fell to a late defeat against Crystal Palace on Sunday after squandering Said Benrahma’s early goal.
Lucas Paqueta returned to lead the line but Gianluca Scamacca was among the Hammers players to endure tough afternoon at London Stadium.
Here’s how David Moyes’ side rated...
Lukasz FabiaÅski - 6
Made a decent save early on from Eberechi Eze’s free-kick and then did not have much else to do until reaction stop kept out potential Dawson own-goal.
Thilo Kehrer - 5
A couple of fine forays down the right and relationship with Jarrod Bowen is developing well. Dreadful touch led to Wilfried Zaha’s goal.
Kurt Zouma - 6
Flew under the radar without a recognised centre-forward to go up against. Steady.
Craig Dawson - 5
Aggressive defending against Zaha won possession in the build-up to the goal but then put Kehrer in it with poor pass before Zaha’s leveller. Almost scored own-goal late on.
Aaron Cresswell - 6
Tested by Palace’s fluidity of options on the right but did well until an unlucky deflection took Michael Olise’s winner in.
Declan Rice - 6
Had hearts in mouths when going down injured two weeks before the World Cup. Thankfully, okay to carry on.
Tomas Soucek - 5
Sloppy in possession and outshone by Cheick Doucoure in midfield battle before being replaced.
Jarrod Bowen - 6
Could have done with a showpiece performance as Gareth Southgate prepares to name his England squad but did not deliver it.
Lucas Paqueta - 7
Decent impact on return from injury. Set up opener and makes those around him better.
Said Benrahma - 7
Marked his 100th Hammers appearance with a terrific strike. Decision to take him off was hugely unpopular.
Gianluca Scamacca - 4
Ineffectual during first-half before being replaced at the break.
Substitutes
Michail Antonio (Scamacca 46’) - 5
Looked to have won late penalty but went down far too easily. Rubbish cross ruined counter-attack and led to Palace winner.
Flynn Downes (Soucek 64’) - N/A
Manuel Lanzini (Benrahma 64’) - N/A
Pablo Fornals (Paqueta 90’) - N/A
