West Ham player ratings vs Aston Villa: Andriy Yarmolenko the star on his return as Hammers win

Lukasz Fabianksi - Made a fantastic save from Danny Ings in the second half showing great agility to deny the England striker. 7

Ben Johnson - Showed his versatility when switching to the left after Cresswell's injury. Another solid game from the defender. 7

Craig Dawson - Missed a sitter in the second half but was important at the back, particularly from set-pieces where he cleared a number of dangerous balls. 6

Kurt Zouma - Another solid game from the centre-back who has already quickly become the Hammers key defender. 7

Aaron Cresswell (off 57') - Pushed forward well and put in a number of dangerous balls, will be a huge loss if his injury keeps him out of the Sevilla clash. 7

Declan Rice - Sat in a more defensive role and protected the back four well, drove forward well, in particular for the second goal, and played a number of excellent forward passes. 7

Tomas Soucek - Had the license to get forward and support the attack which he did well, tidy on the ball. 6

Pablo Fornals - Took his goal well after a fine West Ham counter-attack, diligent in defence helping both Johnson and Fredericks. 7

Manuel Lanzini - Good in possession and worked hard off the ball. 6

Said Benrahma (off 87') - A lively start from the Algerian who had two shots in the opening ten minutes and looked dangerous on the ball at times and on others ran straight at the Villa defenders. Ended the match with two assists and the applause of the London Stadium. 7

Michail Antonio (off 52') - Shrugged off the Villa defenders on a number of occasions and looked a threat when running at the backline. Could be a killer blow if his hamstring injury is a serious one. 6

Subs:

Andriy Yarmolenko (on 52') - A special moment for the Ukrainian with a brilliant finish. Every player ran over to celebrate with him as he sank to his knees in tears. 9

Ryan Fredericks (on 57') - Got forward well and looked comfortable in defence. 6

Issa Diop (on 87') - n/a
