With an ongoing injury crisis in defence, it now appears David Moyes' side have dipped back into the transfer market and submitted an official bid for Kehrer, as football.London understands, with the Hammers keen to acqurie a new central defender before Sunday's trip to Nottingham Forest.
The 25-year-old made 27 appearances for the reigning Ligue 1 champions last season and can operate at either full-back position, something he has done while representing Germany.
Competition for Kehrer's signature is fierce with reports claiming Sevilla are just one of a number of clubs keen to sign the defender this summer.
