Here are your latest Manchester City evening headlines on Monday, January 16.
Moyes had opportunity to snap-up Alvarez
West Ham United manager David Moyes has revealed he had the chance to sign Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez before the Argentine joined the Blues.
Alvarez signed for City from River Plate in January 2022, but he spent the second half of last season back on loan with the Argentinians, before officially joining the Blues earlier this summer. Since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium, the 22-year-old has eight goals and two assists in 23 appearances.

However, the striker - who was part of the Argentina squad that won the recent World Cup in Qatar - could have instead been playing for fellow Premier League outfit West Ham, with Moyes claiming that he had an opportunity to snap-up Alvarez before City.
Conte makes Premier League title prediction
Tottenham manager Antonio Conte believes only two sides can win the Premier League title this campaign after Arsenal beat his team in the North London derby.
Arsenal's latest statement victory sent them eight points clear at the top of the table following Manchester City's defeat in their own derby meeting with Manchester United - who are themselves now just a point off the Blues as they find themselves level with third-placed Newcastle United.
Despite the small gap separating City from United and Newcastle, Spurs manager Conte reckons that this season will only be a two-horse race.
