West Ham fans will be banned from the London Stadium if they resell tickets for their Europa League semi-final to Eintracht Frankfurt supporters, as the club bids to prevent German fans from getting into the home end.
Around 30,000 Frankfurt fans took over the Nou Camp earlier this month to roar their team to a shock 3-2 win in Barcelona as they reached the last-four thanks to a 4-3 aggregate triumph.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta said he was “embarrassed and ashamed” by the incident and West Ham are determined to avoid a repeat.
Tickets for the first leg at the London Stadium next Thursday have sold out in record time as West Ham prepare for their first European semi-final in 46 years.
West Ham are confident that will prevent any visiting fans from infiltrating the home end, but a small number of tickets have appeared on third-party ticket resale websites.
The club have a team of staff scouring those websites to identify any tickets up for sale and are moving quickly to cancel those found.
Once cancelled, West Ham are working to identify supporters who placed those tickets up for re-sale and will block their season ticket for the rest of their season as well as banning them from renewing for the 2022-23 season.
