West Ham have confirmed Jarrod Bowen fractured his foot in the 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool on Sunday.
Bowen picked up the foot injury in the first half at the London Stadium at the weekend.
The Hammers skipper is now expected to be sidelined heading into the new year.
The 28-year-old limped off in the 60th minute and no timescale has been given for his return to football.

It is a devastating blow for West Ham, who confirmed the news on their website on Tuesday.
The statement on the club’s website read: “West Ham United can confirm Jarrod Bowen sustained a fractured foot injury in Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Liverpool.
“The injury to his left foot, picked up in the first half at London Stadium, will sideline the Hammers captain heading into the New Year.”

It is a huge concern for under-pressure boss Julen Lopetegui, who will be without captain Bowen for their next test against Man City next week.

Jarrod Bowen has been one of the Hammers’ best players this season. He is the club’s top scorer this season with five Premier League goals and has four assists.
West Ham sit 13th in the Premier League and have just six wins from 19 games.
Bowen joins Michail Antonio on the sidelines. The Hammers striker was discharged from hospital on Tuesday, 24 days after his horrific car crash.
