West Ham confirm details of pre-season fixtures ahead of 2022-23 season

West Ham United have confirmed four pre-season fixtures ahead of the 2022-23 season.

The Hammers have a double header on July 12 when David Moyes will split his squad, with one team heading to League One side Ipswich Town and the other facing National League team Boreham Wood.

West Ham will then face Championship side Reading away on July 16 before a week later playing Championship play-off semi-finalists Luton at Kenilworth Road on July 23.

The club is expected to announce what will be their final pre-season fixtures for the weekend of July 30/31.

The new Premier League season starts on August 6.

Moyes is plotting a summer of significant overhaul at the London Stadium despite another successful season for West Ham.

The Hammers reached the semi-final of the Europa League and secured a second straight season in Europe with a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League.

A thin squad struggled to cope with the demands of European football late on this term, however, and Moyes is desperate to improve both the depth and quality of his side as they target Europa Conference League success and the possibility of breaking into the top six next season.

West Ham are increasingly confident of making Rennes centre-back Nayef Aguerd their first major signing of the summer.

The fixtures for 2022-23 Premier League season will be announced on June 16.
