West Ham are trying to complete five transfer deals before January 31 deadline day

West Ham are aiming to bring in two players before the end of the January transfer window and could sanction multiple loan moves before the deadline as the club look for temporary homes for its most talented starlets.

The Hammers have already recalled and re-homed a number of younger players this month with Conor Coventry heading to MK Dons, Mipo Odubeko to Doncaster Rovers and Joseph Anang to St Patrick's Athletic in Ireland.

The trio along with fellow Under-23 squad members Goncalo Cardoso, Nathan Holland and Nathan Trott are gaining valuable experience away from the club and could be joined by more before the end of the month.

Emmanuel Longelo is the subject of interest from Nottingham Forest, and West Ham are understood to be open to either a loan move or a permanent transfer but, at present, Forest have not met the Hammers' valuation of the left-back.

Aji Alese could also be on his way out of the club with a loan move to an EFL side the most likely move for the centre-back.

Earlier in the transfer window, Darren Randolph was reported as being close to a loan move to Aston Villa. However, David Moyes shut down the idea of a temporary move away from the club for the experienced goalkeeper.

"I have no intention of letting Darren go, we have had no offer," Moyes said. "So as far as I'm concerned, all we received was a loan. I can't see why I would ever let Darren Randolph go on loan."

The Hammers are intent on bringing in a defender and an attacker before the end of the transfer window with Bamba Dieng and Blackburn's Ben Brereton Diaz of interest to the club. Brereton Diaz's stunning Championship form has seen him heavily linked with a move to the Premier League and West Ham are reported to be considering a move for the striker who is currently away on international duty with Chile.

In defence Duje Caleta-Car has long been a West Ham target. The Hammers would be keen on a loan with an option to buy, but Marseille are looking to sell this month with the French club in need of the finances.

Should West Ham complete a deal for the Croatian centre-back Issa Diop's future could be in doubt with Newcastle thought to be keen on the French defender.
