West Ham are continuing talks over moves for strikers Gianluca Scamacca and Armando Broja.

The Hammers are in negotiations with Sassuolo over Italy forward Scamaccca, who scored 16 times in 36 Serie A appearances last term.

The Italian club are understood to want close to €50million for the 23-year-old, who has previously been scouted by Arsenal, while West Ham are yet to table a formal bid but are hoping to strike a deal below that asking price.

Broja, meanwhile, has belatedly flown to Los Angeles to join Chelsea’s preseason tour with his future still unresolved.

The Hammers are expected to match Everton’s £30m approach for the Albanian international, as Chelsea continue to weigh up whether to sell the 20-year-old, who impressed on loan at Southampton last season.

There have been extensive talks in west London on whether to accept the offers to reinvest in the squad, with manager Thomas Tuchel and co-owner Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali all involved in the decisions.

There are thought to have been half a dozen meetings already involving Boehly solely on the debate over whether to sell or keep Broja.

West Ham have not entirely ruled out the possibility of bringing in both Scamacca and Broja this summer, though that is likely to depend on Chelsea being willing to sanction another loan spell for Broja.

Even if the Blues are happy to do so, they will likely demand guarantees around playing time, which the Hammers would struggle to offer should Scamacca also arrive.
