Newcastle United kept the pressure on their top four rivals as they beat West Ham United 5-1 at the London Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Eddie Howe's side claimed all three points thanks to goals from Callum Wilson - who scored one either side of half-time - a brace from Joelinton and another from Alexander Isak. The two changes made by the Newcastle boss both found the back of the net as the Magpies flexed their squad depth ahead of the run-in.
Allan Saint-Maximin's cross was headed home by Wilson after just six minutes before Joelinton calmly rounded Lukasz Fabianski in goal in the 20th minute to slot into an empty net after VAR confirmed that the Brazilian was onside. Much of the talk in the pre-match build-up had surrounded Howe's team selection and it was vindicated before West Ham had even clicked into gear.

Kurt Zouma brought the deficit back to a single goal just before half-time, but some quick thinking by Jacob Murphy 20 seconds into the second-half saw him rob Nayef Aguerd inside his own area before squaring the ball to Wilson to tap home from yards out.
Not to miss out on the fun, Isak - who came on for a half hour cameo - also got in on the action as a howler from Fabianski allowed Isak to lob the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper into an open goal from 25-yards-out.
Joelinton added his second and Newcastle's fifth in the closing stages as he carried the ball into the West Ham area before firing a left-footed drive low into the bottom corner.
