West Bromwich Albion head coach Carlos Corberan has revealed that former Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa "helps you become the best that you can be" after the former Whites coach detailed the influence that the Argentine had on him during their time together at Elland Road.
Corberan spent three years at Leeds, arriving as the club's U23 manager in 2017 before going on to take the top job at Huddersfield Town in the summer of 2020. After losing to Nottingham Forest in the play-off final last season, the 39-year-old resigned and went on to become head coach of Greek side Olympiacos.
A six-week spell in Europe came and went, with Corberan being appointed as West Brom's new manager in October last year. Taking over with the Baggies second from bottom in the Championship, they now sit just two points outside of the play-off places.

Corberan will no doubt be looking to go one step further than he managed with the Terriers and return West Brom to the Premier League. In such a competitive league, the Spaniard will use every piece of knowledge gained from his time with Bielsa to help recreate their 2021 heroics with Leeds following the club's 16-year hiatus from the top flight.
And now Corberan has detailed the impact that Bielsa had on him during their time together at Elland Road.
“As a coach, Bielsa helps you become the best that you can be. He pushes you and makes you work so hard,” Corberan told the Mirror. “I want to work a lot, that’s what I learned from my family and to dedicate yourself to achieve something.
“When you spend 15 minutes with a player before the game, it’s to spend time analysing what they do on the pitch. For the player it’s easier to perform when they know what is expected of him and where he is on the pitch.”
