Chelsea fans and Graham Potter alike anxiously await the latest news on the scan the club doctors will be conducting with Wesley Fofana. The French defender was substituted after 38 minutes due to a knee injury sustained in the first half of the Champions League win against AC Milan.
The 21-year-old hobbled off the Stamford Bridge pitch after going down twice on the turf and was replaced by Trevoh Chalobah. That new injury completely overshadowed his first goal for the club and will have Chelsea fans understandably anxious for an update on his situation.
Manager Graham Potter, who will be speaking once again to the press ahead of Wolves on Friday afternoon, said post-match in his press conference: "We don't know yet. That's the one disappointing thing about the evening. We need to scan, and fingers crossed. I wouldn't want to speculate on it now, but we're concerned, and we need to wait for tomorrow, get it scanned and hope for the best. It is what it is.

"These things happen. He's a young guy, a strong guy. We'll help him, we'll support him, but at the moment not too much to report."
Chelsea's No.33 left SW6 on crutches but an update on his scan and the prognosis remains unknown for now. However, on his social media, Fofana has sent a short message to the fans.
His message on Instagram read: "From laughter to tears. I’ll be back stronger [soon arrow emoji]. Be sure."
The reference to 'tears' indicates a negative outcome whilst the 'soon' element could hint that maybe the injury lay-off may not be as bad as first feared.
Regardless of the outcome, some French outlets are reporting that this fresh knee injury has 'jeopardised' his chances of being seriously considered by international manager Didier Deschamps for the upcoming squad selection ahead of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup start in late November.
One of the big motives behind Fofana's Leicester exit was to increase his chances of being able to make the upcoming World Cup. A dream which is now at significant risk.
