Wesley Fofana drops Chelsea transfer hint at Arsenal with 'goodbye' message to Leicester fans

Wesley Fofana has dropped a huge hint on his future following Leicester City's 4-2 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer, and as talks intensify, he looks to have waved farewell to the travelling Foxes fans.

football.london understand the west Londoners will table a fresh - and third - bid for Fofana in the coming days, with the clubs locked in talks this week. It's said that Brendan Rodgers' side could be willing to sell the Frenchman for £85million, though Todd Boehly's next offer isn't expected to match their asking price.

While the summer window is coming to a close, the Blues have growing confidence that Leicester will cash in on the defender. With Chelsea higher-ups evidently eager to wrap up a deal, it's understood that talks with Fofana's representatives are ongoing.

After the final whistle in north London, a video from the stands saw Fofana applaud as we walked over to the Leicester fans. While unclear and unconfirmed, the video looks to have caught the defender put his head into his elbow as if he were wiping his face - or tears - before wiping his face with his shirt.

Fofana proceeded to soak up the applause from the travelling support. The youngster's moment follows an admission from Rodgers, who confirmed Chelsea's initial two bids.

"There were two [bids], but again, nowhere near what the club would even think about," Rodgers added, speaking in Thursday's press conference. "To reiterate it, we're not looking to sell Wesley. He's not a player we're looking to move on.

"Naturally, if there is an interest from other clubs, then that is looked at by the club. But he's a top, top young defender. There's not too many about at his age. He's someone we'd love to keep here, but we'll have to wait and see what develops."
