Went to meet Prime Minister for our State’s rights, says Stalin

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday said he had gone to Delhi to seek what was due to the State and not for any personal matters as alleged by certain people.

Speaking at a wedding , the DMK leader said, “Some people have alleged that I had gone there to save myself from some problems, out of fear. Let me make one thing very clear. I did not go there and fall at anyone’s feet seeking any favours for myself,” he said.

“I went to Delhi and met the Prime Minister and put forward our State’s issues, met the respective Ministers and submitted memorandums and gave a voice to our State’s rights. Some people who are unable to digest all these are making these allegations [against me],” he said.

Mr. Stalin further said even during his Dubai visit, former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami had claimed that he had taken several crores of rupees to Dubai. “I don’t have to respond to all this,” he said.
