Wendy Williams in rare video health update as she vows to return to her TV show

Wendy Williams has provided her fans with a rare video update on her health as her son shared a video to Instagram.

The star, 57, revealed she is "doing okay" after taking a break from her presenting duties on The Wendy Williams Show late last year.

In the clip shared by her son Kevin Hunter Jr, Wendy can be seen taking a stroll along a windy beach in Florida.

The presenter had been visiting family in the Sunshine State and confessed she was about to go to the gym following her stroll.

Speaking to her son, she said: "You know that I workout all the time even though he don't come with me. I go on my own."

She went on to give an insight into how she spends her days currently, saying: "I like to go early because after I work out I get tired. I want to take a shower again and then I like to lay down, watch TV.

"I get on the phone and call friends and family and some business. I do call business affairs."

She also revealed she is taking a "break" from life in New York City and admitted she loved Florida just as much as the Big Apple.

After Kevin explained how fans had been wondering what the star had been up to since her break from her self-titled show, Wendy explained she will be "back stronger" while also thanking fans for the "prayers".

And after noting her age, she said: "There are things that happen to people. I would say that things usually start about 40 and they go up from there."

She revealed he was focusing on her health and was intent on eating "the right food" while saying "everybody's got issues".

Wendy told fans she is happy with how healthy she is for her age and ended by saying: "I want to be all I can be and then get back to New York and get on down with The Wendy Williams Show."

It's unclear as to when the video was recorded. While she said she was visiting her mother, fans were confused as her mum died in December 2020.

However, speaking to Page Six, Wendy's rep cleared up the confusion by saying her mum is buried in Florida while also insisting the clip was filmed on Wednesday.

They also said: "She [Wendy] thanks everyone who has been patiently awaiting her return and believes that, thanks in large part to the love and support of her son, her family, her new team of doctors and a change of scenery, she is on the mend.

"Wendy says to all her fans, ‘How you doing?’ Please send positive messages, energy, and affirmations to her social media that she can read daily."
