Nottingham Forest are back in the Premier League after defeating Huddersfield Town 1-0 in the play-off final at Wembley.
Levi Colwill scored an own goal in the first half to send Forest to the Premier League. The final whistle capped a remarkable turnaround under Steve Cooper after the manager arrived at the City Ground with Forest in dire straits at the bottom of the Championship.
Captain Joe Worrall paid tribute to Cooper at the final whistle. He said: “He’s failed twice in the play-offs before and I'm absolutely made up for him. He calls me on my days off, it says Steve Cooper and I’m like, ‘What does he want?’
"He’s just checking up on me and he does it with all the players. He’s a really genuine man and I’m made up for him. He kills us with kindness and the fans love him. I’m so, so happy. He deserves it because he’s been immense.”
Worrall's defensive colleague Scott McKenna added: "I don’t think it was the best of games but the main thing is we got the result and won promotion. Since the semi-final win the atmosphere around the town has been exceptional so for us to put on a performance for all the fans that came out is great."

Wembley erupted at full-time as a packed Forest end celebrated with their heroes. There were also joyous scenes of celebration in Nottingham.
Reds fans also belted out popular terrace anthem Mull of Kintyre. The song has been a Forest anthem ever since the glory days when the Reds were champions of Europe. Made famous by Paul McCartney and Wings, the song was released in late 1977 before being adopted by the Forest faithful during the season they won the First Division in 1978.
Reds supporters changed the lyrics as the mist often rolled in from the Trent, and included a range of words about their travels up and down the country. Having been released that season, it became the Forest chorus and has stuck ever since.
