Welsh international flanker Thomas Young has suffered what appears to be a neck injury.
Young was representing his club side Wasps in their European Champions Cup clash with Munster on Sunday afternoon when he suffered the injury.
In the 36th minute of the match, Young went in to a breakdown to secure the ball for his side and was involved in a collision with Jean Kleyn.
The openside fell backwards out of the ruck immediately and lay on his back as medics rushed to his aid.
Play was stopped for over 10 minutes as Young was assessed, treated and moved onto a stretcher to leave the field.
The seriousness of the injury is not known but all will hope that it is not as serious as it appeared as every precaution was taken.
Broadcasters BT Sport reported that Young was taken straight to hospital by ambulance.
Wasps went in to the half time interval trailing 24-7.
Last week, Young was the source of much debate in Wales having missed out on selection for the Six Nations. It later emerged that he was ineligible due to the 60-cap rule for this campaign, despite being available for selection in the autumn.
