Welsh Coronation Street actor undergoes amazing post-lockdown physical transformation

A Welsh actor who starred in Coronation Street has revealed how he's transformed his body after successive lockdowns.

Haydn Holden, from Trawsfynydd in Gwynedd, appeared on the long-running ITV soap earlier this year as shifty cosmetics salesman Rhydian Chivers.

But since filming the role he's morphed dramatically and has been showing off his new ripped body builder physique on social media.

The before and after pics demonstrate how Haydn's gruelling gym routine helped get his body fat ratio down to just nine percent over an eight week period.

He also explained how the exercise had benefited him in other ways.

"Clearly there's a body transformation but I promise you, the impact of the mental health benefits are far greater," he posted on Instagram.

"It's not for everyone and people have their own routines and preferences - but for me I highly recommend and I'd do it again in a heartbeat! #gymmotivation."

The actor, who's based in Manchester and trained three times per week at his local Ultimate Performance gym, also overhauled his diet by weighing his proteins, carbohydrates and fat sources before cooking.

He also credited walking 10,000-plus steps a day as another driving factor in losing the fat.

The post prompted a huge shocked reaction from his followers, with some writing, "Wow!" and "Jeez."

Another posted, somewhat sarcastically, "Yeah, I'm looking EXACTLY like this after lockdown."

Haydn's stint on the Weatherfield cobbles was one of the rare occasions a character with a Welsh accent has appeared in Corrie.

"It's so good to play a Welsh character," he said.

"I know there's a few cast members who are from north Wales, but I can't remember the last time there was actually a Welsh character on Coronation Street."
