A cheese plant in North Wales has been acquired by the North of England’s largest independent regional cheese producer.
Futura Foods Wales, which is located in Minfford in Gwynedd, has been bought by Nantwich-based Joseph Heler.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

The North Wales firm currently employs 60 people and specialises in cutting, blending and packaging multiple cheese formats.
Its site is currently working with cheddars, mozzarella, territorials and continental cheeses.
The deal sees Joseph Heler continuing to supply Futura Wales’ existing customers and business, however Futura Foods Wales will be renamed to Heler Foods Packing as part of the acquisition.
Joseph Heler is now undertaking a big recruitment drive following the deal due to new long term contracts which have been secured.
The company is looking to fill 50 vacancies between now and Christmas.
Managing director George Heler said the company acquired the firm to offer its customers more capability and capacity.
He said: "Futura Foods Wales is a fantastic site with huge potential. It offers the Joseph Heler customer base increased capability and capacity across all cheese formats.
"In addition we have further investments planned for this year securing a really positive future for current employees and future employees in the area."
